Ord&Bild (”Word&Image”) has been published since 1892, which makes it the oldest cultural journal in Sweden. In the 1890’s most of Sweden’s authors and artists gathered around Ord&Bild. By the end of the 1930’s this honourable publication fought against Nazism and for the freedom of the Nordic countries. In the 60’s and 70’s Ord&Bild was the main forum for intellectuals of the Left. Today, Ord&Bild is an independent radical journal, carrying its rich legacy with great pride. We publish useful articles on culture, philosophy and politics, we make room for critical thinking, literature and reviews, letting our readers discover new authors and meet contemporary artists.

Ord&Bild publishes five thematic issues per year and is part of the European Network Eurozine. You can find information about the journal along with reviews and occasional texts in English on the Eurozine website
